This Week in the Law School
We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and are ready to tackle the final two weeks of the semester. The Jerome Hall Law Library staff will help mitigate stress with several activities between now and Dec. 15, so stop by if you need to unwind. And about exams: please, please, please attend an ExamSoft session if you haven't already. Go again if you still have questions or issues. Preparing now will save you headaches come test time. We'll also repeat what we said last week: do not update your computer's operating system software (either Windows or macOS) until you've taken your last ExamSoft exam this semester. Faculty and staff are invited to join our Graduate Legal Studies students for the always-fun Lights on the Square event in the beautiful Fountain Square ballroom Friday night.
Best of luck on final exams! We look forward to seeing you back for Wintersession and the official start of the spring semester.

Jerome Hall Law Library Final Exams Relief
Exam stress-relief activities are back in the Jerome Hall Law Library. Please join us in the library lobby today through Friday, December 15 to take a well-deserved break from stress and studying. There will be board games, coloring books, jigsaw puzzles, and more. We look forward to seeing you there!
ExamSoft Sessions
Exam season is almost upon us and it is time to get your laptops ready for digital bluebook exams. Attendance at one ExamSoft Help Session is required for any student (JD or graduate) who has not used ExamSoft software to take an exam here at Indiana Law before. This semester you will be using a new ExamSoft Software called Examplify. It is critical that you follow emailed instructions and update the software as soon as possible. Experienced ExamSoft users: We highly recommend that you attend a help session even if you are not required to. At the very least, upgrade the software and take the mock exam this week so that you know you are prepared to use your laptop for digital bluebook exams and we have time to work with you if there are any problems with your laptop or the software. Multiple sessions will be held this week including today at: 9 a.m.; 9:30 a.m.; noon; 12:30 p.m.; 2 p.m.; and 2:30 p.m. All in Room 125.

Lights on the Square
Join the Office of Graduate Legal Studies for our annual Lights on the Square semi-formal event. This is a great opportunity for our graduate students to relax and have a bit of fun before the onslaught of exams. It makes the event even more special when faculty and staff come. We are continuing the casino theme this year so come prepared to play Black Jack and roulette with fake money. There will be plenty of food, drink and good cheer to go around, and we hope to see you there. Fountain Square Ballroom, 6 to 9 p.m.

Basic Mediation and Restorative Justice Training
The Community Justice and Mediation Center (CJAM) offers a 40-hour training program for community members interested in learning about conflict resolution, mediation, and restorative justice. Participants will enhance their interpersonal skills in communication and listening, problem solving, and negotiation, and they will increase their understanding of restorative justice philosophy and methods, the sources of conflict, and the processes leading to constructive conflict resolution. The training should benefit any community member concerned with managing conflict and its resolution. The training provides the background and skills necessary to work as a community mediator and restorative justice practitioner and qualifies participants to volunteer in CJAM's programs.
The winter training will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. over five weekend days: February 10, 11, 17, 18, and 24 at the Law School. The training will be led by senior mediators and restorative justice practitioners. Tuition is $300 or $260 if received by January 15. Scholarships are available. For more information, e-mail training@cjamcenter.org or phone the office at (812) 336-8677. Go to the CJAM website to register online. Payment can be made by credit card at the website or by check.
