Graduates of the Maurer School of Law will be recognized at a ceremony held at the IU Auditorium on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 12 to 2 p.m. EST. The Law School does not participate in the main IU commencement ceremony for graduate students (held on Friday, May 6 at Memorial Stadium).
The Law School’s tradition is to celebrate our graduates the evening before their commencement ceremony with a party in the Jerome Hall Law Library. All graduates and their guests are invited to this gathering, which is planned for 7 p.m. on Friday, May 6.
Graduating students will receive more information via from Director Beck and the Class of 2022 Graduation Committee, and are encouraged to check this page for additional details and to reference the Graduation Checklist and the Graduation FAQ.
A note about regalia
All candidates for degrees must wear custom IU apparel. Students rent their gowns from Herff Jones and return them in a provided mailer after the ceremony. Graduates keep their caps and tassels. Learn more about IU graduation regalia. The last day to order your Graduation Regalia online is Monday, April 11, 2022. Orders placed after this date may incur additional fees. Your regalia will be shipped directly to you, and you will return it using a prepaid return envelope provided by Herff Jones. See this document for additional guidance on ordering and wearing your regalia.
Please update your "Student Home" address to whichever address you would like your diploma mailed to. Your diploma will be mailed 10-12 weeks after your graduation and will take an additional 6-8 weeks for shipping. If you are not in the United States, you can pay for FedEx international priority shipping to receive your diploma sooner by using the FedEx request form at the page listed above. The university recommends using FedEx International Priority for deliveries to China.
