Business & Law Society Meeting
This is a general meeting for all Business & Law Society members. The executive board will discuss the events that are planned for the semester, and members will have the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions. Room 125, noon.
Black Tie 101
Please join the Black Law Students Association and Prof. Don Gjerdingen as he presents "Black Tie 101." As a kick start to the Barrister's events, Prof. Gjerdingen will be presenting on black tie attire for both men and women.. Learn to dress for success from one of Maurer's best. BLSA will be giving away a free Barristers' Ball ticket to one lucky attendant. Lunch will be served. Room 124, noon.
Outreach for Legal Literacy Meeting
Outreach for Legal Literacy is holding a meeting to explain mock trial procedures and to distribute applications for executive board positions. This meeting should take about 30 minutes. One member from each volunteer group must attend. Lunch will be provided. Room 121, Noon.
Christian Legal Society Weekly Bible Study
All students interested in learning more about the Christian Legal Society or interested in engaging in Bible study are welcome. Room 214, 12:10 p.m.
1L Academic Enhancement Session
You are done with your first semester of law school, now what? Our Student Affairs fellows will present on how to learn from your first semester and how to move forward in law school. In addition to the academic presentation, we will have a panel of upperclassmen talk about grade anxiety and landing your first summer jobs. Louise Melling: Religious Refusals and Reproductive Rights: Conscience as Discrimination and Shaming
Please welcome Louise Melling, ACLU deputy legal director and director of the Center for Liberty and the Campaign to End the Use of Religion to Discriminate. Last year, the nation turned its attention to Indiana as the legislature passed and the governor signed into law a Religious Freedom Restoration Act. The public outcry, most prominently by businesses threatening boycotts of the state, focused mainly on concern that the law would sanction discrimination against LGBT people. The implications for women seeking to exercise reproductive rights featured little if at all in the public debates, even though to date RFRA has been used successfully as a sword against women seeking to exercise reproductive rights, not against LGBT people. This talk will challenge the current ways of thinking about reproductive rights and religious refusals. It will argue that the refusal to provide women reproductive health care, no less than the refusal to provide LGBT people wedding services, is discrimination. Interested in criminal justice reform and learning more about federal criminal practice and post-conviction relief? Come to a discussion sponsored by the Inmate Legal Assistance Project on these issues. Learn more about ILAP's work with the U.S. Department of Justice to serve the residents of the Federal Correctional Center in Terre Haute and plans for the coming semester. Faculty News
Prof. Sarah Jane Hughes completed the second draft of the Uniform Regulation of Virtual Currency Businesses Act for the Uniform Law Commission. The draft will be discussed by the Drafting Committee at its next meeting in Palo Alto, February 19-21. Interested persons can see the draft on the ULC's website, or can email Prof. Hughes (sjhughes@indiana.edu), for an electronic copy. Also, if any graduate would like a reprint of the article Ms. Hughes recently published proposing a framework commercial law for virtual currency payments intermediaries in the Yale Journal on Regulation, she can offer a reprint to the first 10 graduates to request one. She promises not to be offended if no one wants one.

Pay Your Tax Law Society Dues
The Tax Law Society would like to officially welcome everyone back this semester and hopes the first couple of weeks have gone well. We have a lot of great events planned for this semester and would like for as many tax enthusiasts as possible to take part. So for those whom have already ready paid dues and are a part of the organization, we look forward to seeing you this semester. For those who would like to join, we will be tabling the next couple of weeks, Monday-Wednesday, from noon to 1pm. Dues are $15.
Condomgrams
Law Students for Reproductive Justice will be selling condomgrams all this week during lunchtime. Get one for $2 or three for $5. Each bag contains condoms, candy, and a Valentine's Day card. Give the gift of safer sex to your friends or admirers this Valentine's Day. All proceeds benefit Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky.

You will receive confirmation that your room has been reserved after your request has been processed. When filling out your event description, please provide all information possible, especially if you are requesting that the event be publicized.

Indiana Law Annotated is published every Monday while school is in session with news about the coming week. Submit information and articles for ILA to ila@indiana.edu by Thursday at noon for inclusion in Monday's edition. Length of submission is limited to 150 words, unless otherwise approved. Entries may be edited to ensure consistent presentation. If you're requesting a room, submit all information (including the room request) by emailing (lawrooms@indiana.edu).
