Career Choices: Power Interviewing Workshop
What experiences are employers looking for? During this session, you can ask them. Lisa Brown, hiring partner of Schiff Hardin in Chicago, will discuss the firm's hiring process, which relies on this approach. To make this session more concrete, Ms. Brown will be doing a mock interview of Matt Pfaff, JD'13, who got a job with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in Washington, DC, by scoring in the top 5% of a structured behavioral interview process. Then we will debrief. After attending this session, you will understand Indiana Law's Fromm Six competency model at a deeper and more practical level that is directly linked to your future career goals. Society for Law and the Arts National Cultural Heritage Law Moot Court Competition Team Call-Out
If you are interested in participating in next year's competition team for this event, please attend this meeting. This year's competitors will be there to share their stories about the experience and what it takes to win "Best Brief" and "Second Place Overall" We will give out information on how to apply for next year's team. Hobby Lobby Round Table Discussion

Korean Law Students Forum

Loan Repayment Counseling Session

Brown v. Board of Education at 60
American Constitution Society, BLSA, and the Law School will host a talk by Theodore Shaw, Professor of Professional Practice in Law, Columbia Law School, and former Director-Counsel and President of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Mr. Shaw's talk is titled, "Brown at 60: The Betrayal of the Cause of African Americans in the Pursuit of Fourteenth Amendment Rights." Moot Court Room, noon.

This year's symposium is titled "Social Equality: At Home and Abroad" and features four panels on employment, the legal system and legal advocacy, marriage and family, and taxes and international business. On March 13, Professor Rob Fischman delivered a talk entitled "Integrating state and regional plans and programs into federal public land management" at the George Washington University Law School conference on The Role of Planning in Federal Land Management.
Prof. Mark Janis delivered lectures in England on March 7 and 8. On the 7th, he spoke at Rhodes House, University of Oxford, on trademark litigation involving the use of key words by search engines. On the 8th, he spoke at the Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge, on the doctrine of patent exhaustion.
On Friday, April 4, Prof. Kevin Brown will appear on a panel entitled "Affirmative Action in Education: How It Began and Where We Are Today" at a symposium hosted by the NYU Law Review of Law & Social Change: "Diversity in Education and the Future of Affirmative Action."

Access to Justice Pro Bono Fellowship Applications
Applications are now being accepted by the Access to Justice Program for a pro bono fellow to work in the 2014-2015 school year. The fellowship will continue through the 2015-2016 school year. A 1L student will be chosen to help coordinate the school's student pro bono program with the rising 3L fellow. Responsibilities include: coordinating a pro bono fair, tracking student pro bono hours, working with student organizations and the Office of Career and Professional Development, conducting student outreach, and acting as liaison with attorneys to match students with pro bono projects. Traditionally, fellows have received full funding to attend the ABA's Equal Justice Conference in May. Students will also receive a stipend. Applications consisting of a short cover letter with a statement of interest and a resume should be sent electronically to Megan Boelstler and Kayleen Glaser at wedogood@indiana.edu by Monday, April 7, 2014 by 5 p.m. Please redact GPA and class rank.
Nominations for 2L and 3L SBA Representatives
Nominations for Student Bar Association 2L and 3L Representatives are now open. This means that any current 1L or 2L student may be nominated. Candidates may be nominated until 5p.m. on Friday. The nomination box and slips are beside the circulation desks, and students may nominate as many candidates as they'd like. Candidates will be contacted on Friday evening regarding their nomination, and they will have until Sunday at 6p.m. to accept it. Julie Spain will contact all candidates who properly accept their nomination on Sunday evening to let them know when they may officially start campaigning. Anyone who campaigns early will be disqualified. Please email jaspain@indiana.edu with questions. Elections for 2L and 3L Student Bar Association Representatives will occur on April 8th and 9th. Candidates may campaign on April 7th, and on the 8th and 9th during all non-election hours.
Sign up now for the Inaugural Maurer vs. McKinney School of Law Softball Tournament
SBA is proud to announce that the inaugural Maurer-McKinney softball tournament will be held on April 12th, time TBD. There will be three games, divided by law school class. Each class can have sixteen people on its team, and everyone else is invited to come cheer on your peers! Sign up at the SBA table in the lobby any day this week. Sign-ups will end on April 9th, or when the spots have been filled. Snacks will be provided, and the school that wins two out of the three games will have the tournament trophy on display until next year's games. How to Schedule an Event
An online form is available to plan and schedule meetings. Please use this form to request a room, notify Indiana Law Annotated and send other information about your event. You will receive confirmation that your room has been reserved after your request has been processed. When filling out your event description, please provide all information possible, especially if you are requesting that the event be publicized.
ILA Submissions
Indiana Law Annotated is published every Monday while school is in session with news about the coming week. Submit information and articles for ILA to ila@indiana.edu by Thursday at noon for inclusion in Monday's edition. Length of submission is limited to 150 words, unless otherwise approved. Entries may be edited to ensure consistent presentation. If you're requesting a room, submit all information (including the room request) via the Plan a Meeting feature of the website.
