Announcements
A team from the Law School made its inaugural trip to the NCHL Moot Court competition in Chicago the weekend of Feb. 20. Out of 20 teams, Team Maurer took the award for best brief and won second place in the final round! Please congratulate the team members -- Roy Braatz, John Paul Coonrod, and Adam Doerr (all 3Ls) — if you see them. They put in a tremendous amount of work and performed flawlessly. The competition took place in the Dirksen Federal Building, with the final round in the Seventh Circuit Ceremonial Courtroom in front of a panel of judges that included Judge William Bauer (7th Circuit) and Judge Paul Kelly Jr. (10th Circuit).
Special thanks go to Prof. Mark Janis, Allison Hess, and the Center for Intellectual Property Research for their support; and to the faculty members who volunteered to moot the team: Leandra Lederman, Andrea Need, Seth Lahn, Ryan Scott, Robert Downey, and Mark Janis; and to Abe Shanehsaz, JD'14, president of the Society for Law and the Arts, for his hard work in support of the team.

The funding will cover the registration fee, which includes room and board and mileage. The schedule of events is online. This is a great networking opportunity for those interested in public interest.
