OCPD Student Tip: The Value of Informational Interviewing
Informational interviews are your most powerful career development tool. With a single action step, you can advance your progress in two critical elements of your job search strategy: (1) career research and (2) networking. As a law student, you have an opportunity to be curious. You do not know it all at this point, and asking educated and focused questions about a practitioner's area of expertise is a great way to gather information. Most important, informational interviews are a great way for you to create relationships with practitioners. Preparedness is the key to successful informational interviewing. We are excited to talk to you more about this at our informational interviewing workshop on November 7th at noon. Please stop by the office and pick up one of the new handouts on informational interview tips.
