We are thrilled to welcome you to the Indiana University Maurer School of Law!
We have a special community here at the Law School, and I am pleased and proud you are about to become a part of it.
As you get ready to launch your professional career, you will do more than learn law and legal analysis in the classroom. You will also have an opportunity to work closely with faculty, staff, and your classmates on research that aids in our understanding of law and legal institutions, and contributes to addressing society’s most important and pressing issues. Through our clinics, projects, student organizations, externships, and pro bono programs, you will also have an opportunity to hone your lawyering skills and make a difference.
You’re in for a rigorous and rewarding three years. Always remember, you are not in it alone. Your fellow incoming first-year students will become wonderful resources and friends. We encourage you to get involved and get connected quickly. Our caring faculty and staff stand at the ready to assist you. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your transition to law school easier.
I truly hope you will join us in August. I will look forward to meeting you!
