U.S. Law and Legal Writing Summer Workshop

Join an intensive 3-week program designed to introduce you to U.S. legal analysis, research, and writing—essential skills whether you're preparing for law school, pursuing a career in policy, or exploring legal studies.

Program Overview

Dates: July 13-31, 2026 (3 weeks)
Format: In-person at IU Bloomington Maurer School of Law
Time: Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This workshop covers:

  • Legal Research - Master Westlaw/LexisNexis and legal search strategies
  • Legal Writing - Learn IRAC methodology and legal memo drafting
  • Case Analysis - Develop case briefing and synthesis skills
  • Professional Skills - Presentation training and cross-cultural legal discourse

Why this program?

International collaboration: Work alongside undergraduate law students from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), gaining exposure to comparative legal systems and building your international network.
 
Practical skills: Gain hands-on experience with the same research and writing techniques used in law school and legal practice.
 
Pathway to graduate study: Credits earned may be applied toward the Master of Legal Studies (MLS) program if you choose to pursue that degree
