Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF)
PILF is the only organization at the Law School exclusively dedicated to promoting public interest work and legal careers in public service. PILF recognizes that as future lawyers, we have a responsibility to consider, acknowledge, and address the implications our work has on the public as a whole. Whether you are interested in a career in private practice or public interest law, you will benefit from and enjoy PILF opportunities are designed to encourage all law students to view their career through a public interest lens.
What we do
- Offer summer scholarships to dedicated PILF members and students who work in unpaid public interest internships and show dedication to public interest law
- Host networking events and career panels to foster relationships between students and lawyers practicing public interest law
- Raise funds for summer scholarships
- Work with the administration and financial aid office to promote careers in public service
- Educate ourselves and the Law School community about issues in public interest law
- Encourage all students to get involved with pro bono work
