Examplify help sessions continue this week and next from out IT crew. Baier Hall and the Jerome Hall Law Library are closed Thursday and Friday for the holiday. Enjoy. Next, ILA knows you're thinking about exams now, and is pretty sure you're gonna do great. To help, Prof. Gjerdingen will offer his tips on studying and taking exams next Monday, Dec. 2. Every student is welcome, with a special nudge for 1Ls. And last, ILA will return in January, and wishes peace and good cheer to everybody until then.

The American Constitution Society and the Federalist Society will host a discussion of the First Amendment implications of IU's new expressive activity policy with panelists Professors Dan Conkle and Steve Sanders and IU Trustee Vivian Winston.

Announcements
New seminar for spring 2025: Seminar in Law and Technology
(Mondays and Tuesdays, 1:15 - 2:10 p.m. in 203)
Prof. João Marinotti will offer a new seminar exploring cutting-edge legal issues in the context of emerging technologies. We will cover topics including artificial intelligence and intellectual property, digital assets and data governance, privacy and digital trespass, right-to-repair and corporate surveillance, and cyberattacks and cyber attribution, among others. Students taking the course will develop a broad understanding of the questions, policies, and technologies that are shaping our daily lives. As a seminar, course assessment is based on short response papers, a final research project, and in-class participation.

Faculty and Staff News
Professor Steve Sanders recently participated in a panel at the Federalist Society's National Lawyer Convention on "Religious Liberty, Parental Rights, and the Challenges Posed by the Transgender Movement." He spoke about United States v. Skrmetti, a case the Supreme Court will hear next month concerning state laws that outlaw gender transition-related medical treatments for minors.
