AI, Autonomous Creation and the Future of Copyright

Peter K. Yu, University Distinguished Professor, Regents Professor of Law and Communication, and Director of the Center for Law and Intellectual Property at Texas A&M University, will present his article "Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Creation and the Future Path of Copyright Law." The article discusses the largely overlooked yet key question of what copyright law will be in the AI area, one that will have a direct impact on the economic and technological future.

Research assistant opportunities in privacy, security, and AI
Professor Fred Cate is looking for several research assistants to collaborate on privacy, security, and AI research projects. Excellent research and writing skills required; relevant course or work experience helpful. Work volume and timing is very flexible. Research position(s) related to the NextGen Bar
Professor Asaf Lubin has been awarded the inaugural Leon Wallace Teaching Innovation Grant by the Law School to develop a NextGen Bar Exam-modeled torts assessment booklet. The National Conference of Bar Examiners announced August 1 that Indiana will join 22 other U.S. jurisdictions in adopting the NextGen Bar Exam. In preparation for this transition and to support future Indiana law students, Prof. Lubin and a team of RAs will develop new exercise modules for teaching and assessing tort law that are NextGen-compliant. Prof. Lubin is seeking the assistance of one or two RAs to help develop those materials under his supervision. An ideal candidate is a current 2L or 3L student with a good grade in torts and a passion for teaching and pedagogy. Selected RAs will be paid in accordance with regular Law School policies.
