Moot Court reports: Regional quarterfinalists at the 2024 National Appellate Advocacy Competition
We sent two teams to the ABA's National Appellate Advocacy Competition, the nation's largest domestic-law moot court competition and one of the three annual moot court competitions that most affects our program's national ranking. This year we attended the regional tournament at the First Circuit courthouse in Boston (there are six regional competitions prior to Nationals in April). The team of 3Ls Zion Miller and Sydney Darnall were 2-1 in preliminary rounds, and Zion was recognized as one of the Top Ten Oralists at the competition. Our other team of 3L John Vastag and 2L Ryan Day was undefeated in prelims and advanced to quarterfinals. John was also recognized as one of the Top Ten Oralists at the competition. Also traveling with the team were our Bailiffs, 2Ls Emma Leonard and Kyle Pobanz, who provided invaluable support throughout the weekend. Congratulations to both teams and their bailiffs for representing the Law School so well at this competition. We are very proud of them all!
Watch this space for more reports.
