Bias in the workplace: How can we respect the dignity of others?

This session will challenge participants to think about their own biases (implicit and explicit), learn how IU defines bias, reflect upon the impacts of free speech, and what IU does to help support and educate students and others who experience bias incidents and those who create incidents of bias. Law and Technology Practitioner in Residence: Legal Perspectives in Cybersecurity and Informational Privacy

The Law and Technology program and CIPR will host a moderated discussion with Andrew Tannenbaum, general counsel of Barclays Execution Services (BX) and a lecturer in law at Columbia Law School. He will offer a view from the trenches of the practice of cybersecurity, data protection, and intellectual property attorneys. The conversation will highlight how to ensure operational resilience and manage crises in the face of a rapidly evolving business, regulatory, and technology landscapes.
The presidents of Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Association and Intellectual Property Association will moderate. RSVP to attend in-person with lunch by noon, February 12.
The talk is approved for 1 hour of CLE credit.
Relax and unwind! Yoga with ChIPs
4 - 7 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge
Take some time out of your stressful schedule to unwind and relax with ChIPs! Instructor Eryn Blair will lead a 15 minute yoga session then a 15 minute meditation followed by some fun, relaxing time with ChIPs discussing upcoming activities. Twenty spaces are available for the yoga/meditation exercises (email cipr@iu.edu to register) and "treat-yourself-well" goodie bags will be available while supplies last. Do something to take care of YOU this semester.

The Indiana Journal of Law and Social Equality wants you to join them for their Symposium. Professor Sheldon Lyke will be speaking on the future of affirmative action. Professor Lyke teaches at Loyola University of Chicago and specializes in affirmative action, generational wealth, and access to public spaces.
Mental Health First Aid Training
1 - 5 p.m. in 213
The Law School is pleased to offer this training to faculty, staff and students. MHFA is an 8-hour course that covers how to assist someone experiencing a mental health concern and how to approach a crisis in the appropriate manner until professional help can arrive. Participants must attend two 4-hour sessions on consecutive Fridays (Feb. 16 and 23)
Space is limited. Students register on CareerNet. Faculty and staff contact Director Katie Beck to participate.

Finish spring Wellness Week right with a service project to help a local non-profit. Join your classmates ay Pantry 279. OSA needs several pairs of helping hands, so please consider giving your time and energy for a good local cause. Space is limited to 12 students. RSVP by February 16 at 5 p.m.
Additionally, our food drive for Pantry 279 continues through February 16. Please consider donating. Drop items into the collection barrel by the first-floor elevator.

Tickets on sale through Friday: 36th Annual Rapheal M. Prevot, Jr. Barristers’ Ball
The Black Law Students Association will host the 36th Annual Rapheal M. Prevot, Jr. Barristers’ Ball on Saturday, March 2, 6:30 – 11 p.m. at the Woolery Mill. Tickets remain on sale through 11:59 p.m., February 16. Prices will increase throughout the window for students, so hurry and buy early! Additionally, chartered shuttle service will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis between Baier Hall and Woolery Mill before and after the event. To purchase tickets and sign up for shuttle service, visit the official event webpage. Send questions to eventlaw@indiana.edu.
Pro bono hours reporting for the classes of 2024 and 2025
Class of 2024 graduates must report their own cumulative pro bono hours by April 1 to be recognized at graduation. And class of 2025 students should report their hours to be entered to win a Kaplan Bar Prep Course. The Law School will send a Qualtrics form to do so in March, but track your hours now on TickSpot. Check out the Access to Justice Program's website for more information.
