Public Interest/Equal Justice Works
Open to 2Ls and 3Ls. A presentation regarding nationwide public interest opportunities available through Equal Justice Works conference. Lunch will be provided to those who sign up on Symplicity. Room 125, noon.
Wednesday, August 29
Interview Substance and Style
Open to 2Ls and 3Ls. First impressions are crucial and interviewing well is a skill, so the time you spend with recruiting employers can make or break your job search success. This workshop series is designed to help you make the most of your interview experiences. Our goal is to empower you with the skills and confidence to succeed during your upcoming interviews. The substance portion of this workshop will cover interview content: types of interviews, questions to prepare, research and strategies for answering the toughest questions. The style portion of this session will cover: dressing for success, body language, communication techniques, attitude and professionalism. Pizza will be provided for those who RSVP on Symplicity. Moot Court Room, noon.
Please remember that you must RSVP at least 24 hours in advance on Symplicity so we can make sure there is enough food for everyone. If you need to cancel your reservation less than 24 hours in advance, please email Abby Culbert (asculber@indiana.edu). If you are cancelling earlier, you can do so on Symplicity.
Student Ambassadors Needed
As a 1L you have the opportunity to play a significant role in the Law School's recruiting efforts for the Class of 2016. The Admissions Office would appreciate your help. If you are interested in sharing your law school and community experiences with prospective students during their visits, please plan to attend a call-out meeting at noon on Wednesday, August 29, in Room 120. This meeting will cover the Law School's Student Ambassador Program and give you the opportunity to sign up for a weekly class or tour assignment. Lunch will be provided.

Center for Constitutional Democracy Speaker: Prof. Ruth Rubio-Marin
Join other faculty and students to hear Professor Ruth Rubio-Marin (European University Institute, Italy) speak about abortion rights in European constitutional law. CCD conference room, 624 East 3rd Street, noon.

This reception is being held to open the Law, Society & Culture series that will offer monthly speakers throughout the school year 2012 - 2013. Faculty Lounge, 4-6 p.m.

BLSA Bar, Journal, and Moot Court Prep
Shakeba DuBose, JD'04, will return for her annual Bar/Journal/Moot Court session to help students prepare for these critical components to the practice of law. Students should come and find out what it takes to get on a Journal, be successful in Moot Court, and pass the bar. Room 120, 3:00 p.m.
Faculty News
Emeritus Professor Tom Schornhorst on August 21, 2012, presented an oral argument to the Indiana Court of Appeals in the case of Jerry L. Kindred v. State of Indiana. This was a combined direct and collateral appeal stemming from appellant Kindred's conviction of one count of Class A felony child molesting in Greene County. The issues involved errors in the admission of hearsay and opinion evidence, prosecutorial misconduct, and ineffective assistance of trial counsel. An archived video recording of the argument is available at the website of the Indiana Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

Deadlines for On-campus Interviewing
The deadline for OCI week #3 (September 10-14) is Sunday, August 26. The deadline for fall resume collect is Thursday, August 30.
How to Schedule an Event
An online form is available to plan and schedule meetings. Please use this form to request a room, notify Indiana Law Annotated, and send other information about your event. You will receive confirmation that your room has been reserved after your request has been processed. When filling out your event description, please provide all information possible, especially if you are requesting that the event be publicized.
ILA Submissions
The Indiana Law Annotated (ILA) is published every Monday while school is in session with news about the coming week. Submit information and articles for ILA to ila@indiana.edu by Thursday at noon for inclusion in Monday's edition. Length of submission is limited to 150 words, unless otherwise approved. If you're requesting a room, submit all information (including the room request) via the Plan a Meeting feature of the website. If you have questions about an item appearing in the ILA, please contact Ken Turchi (kturchi@indiana.edu; phone 856-4044). Indiana Law Annotated is archived online.
