Moot Court Spring Rounds Begin Wednesday
The Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition is one of the Law School's showcase events. The spring rounds feature the best of the School's advocates. Octofinals begin this week; quarter finals, semifinals, and finals are next week. See below for this week's dates and times.

Northwestern Mutual Information Session
Northwestern Mutual currently employs 93 lawyers across the country. The legal skill set is very desirable in this client driven industry. International Law Society Meeting

Business and Law Society Field Trip
BLS will attend a talk given by Prof. Walt Clements at the Kelley School of Business. Prof. Clements will discuss his extensive experience working in the oil and energy industries across the U.S., Europe, and Asia with companies such as BP. This event is sponsored by the Kelley International Business Society. Food and beverages will be provided. Meet in the lobby at 5:30.

1Ls Needed to Serve as Moot Court Bailiffs
The moot court board is currently seeking 1Ls to serve as bailiffs for the spring rounds of the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition. The Spring rounds feature the top 32 advocates who have advanced from the fall rounds. Octofinals begin Wednesday, February 16th. SBA T-shirts on Sale All Week
Check out the Student Bar Association's new t-shirt sale in the main lobby during the lunch hour all week. We have two designs and special deals when they're purchased in tandem. The proceeds will contribute to the funding of student organizations on campus and promoting external student efforts such as competitions and conferences.
Law Revue Musical Comedy Coming to Indiana Law
Law Revue is a musical comedy production that parodies the legal profession and life at law school. It is one of the most popular annual events at schools such as NYU, Columbia, GWU, and American, and in fall 2011 it will be coming to Indiana Law. Schools for Misrule: Legal Academia and an Overlawyered America
From Barack Obama (Harvard and Chicago) to Bill and Hillary Clinton (Yale), many of our national leaders today emerge from the rarefied air of the nation's top law schools. The ideas taught there in one generation often wind up shaping national policy in the next. The Federalist Society will be hosting Walter Olson, who blogs at the hilarious and informative Overlawyered, to discuss his new book, Schools for Misrule: Legal Academia and an Overlawyered America. Prof. Bill Henderson will provide commentary. The Federalist Society will provide free Starbucks coffee, and there will be ample time for questions. Monday, February 21, Room 120, noon.
Movie: The Cove
The Student Animal Legal Defense Fund will be hosting a movie screening of The Cove. This film is Louie Psihoyos' Oscar-winning documentary about a cove in Taijii, Japan operated by the world's largest supplier of dolphins. Not only is this place a secretive and heavily-guarded provider for the tourist industry, animal activists also discover it to be an environmental disaster. Run time is approximately 1 hour and 34 minutes. Vegan and vegetarian snacks will be provided. Monday, February 21, Room 120, 7 p.m.
National Security Council Official to Visit Indiana Law
Join the Center on the Global Legal Profession and International Law Society as they co-sponsor a talk by Michael Newbill, Acting Director of South Asia at the National Security Council. While this talk will be geared towards students interested in pursuing a career in government, particularly in the foreign service, all are welcome to attend. (Pizza will be served.)Newbill will also provide background on current U.S. foreign policy objectives in South Asia. Before his current assignment, Newbill was Consul for Economic and Political Affairs at the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai. Before that, he was the Desk Officer for India in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the State Department, with responsibility for all economic and consular issues with India. Indiana Law Annotated (ILA) is published every Monday while school is in session with news about the coming week. Submit information and articles for ILA to ila@indiana.edu by Thursday at noon for inclusion in Monday's edition. Length of submission is limited to 150 words, unless otherwise approved. If you're requesting a room, submit all information (including the room request) via the Plan a Meeting feature of the website.
