CACR Speaker Series: Professor Douglas Stinson
The Center for Applied Cybersecurity Research (CACR) Speaker Series welcomes Professor Douglas Stinson and David R. Cheriton of University of Waterloo School of Computer Science in Ontario. They will present "A Combinatorial Approach to Key Predistribution for Distributed Sensor Networks" from noon to 1 p.m. in the Faculty Conference Room.
In this talk, Stinson will discuss the use of combinatorial set systems (combinatorial designs) in the design of key predistribution schemes (KPS) for sensor networks. The public presentation is open to all IU faculty, staff, and students. The speaker series is also video-conferenced in real time to room IT 414 on the IUPUI campus.
Ochoa Presents Indiana Democracy Consortium Colloquium
Professor Christiana Ochoa presents "Proposing an Odious Finance Doctrine as a Deterrent to Despotic Finance," an Indiana Democracy Consortium Colloquium. Ochoa will examine the odious debt doctrine. She posits that there may be valuable lessons to be learned from the odious debt doctrine that apply to other types of transnational financing arrangements, and proposes that an "odious finance" doctrine is the better approach.
The Harvard Journal of International Law selected Ochoa's related article, "From Odious Debt to Odious Finance: Avoiding the Externalities of a Functional Odious Debt Doctrine" for an issue forthcoming in early 2008. The event is from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Law School Faculty Conference Room. For more information contact Brian Shoup, bshoup@indiana.edu.
