1L Academic Enhancement Session
The last of the November 1L Academic Enhancement Sessions about strategizing for exams is at 12:15 p.m. in room 120 with Hannah Bornstein and Laura Koenig facilitating.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Schornhorst Holds Special Session
Professor Tom Schornhorst will hold a special session of his Evidence course at 12:20 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, in room 121. Featured will be a tape recording of the actual kidnapping and hostage stand-off in the infamous Tony Kiritsis case that took place in Indianapolis in 1977. Professor Schornhorst, then on sabbatical leave from the Law School, was one of the prosecutors in the case which ended in a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity. Come and bring your lunch to watch the tape and listen to commentary by Professor Schornhorst. All interested students, faculty, and members of the Law School community are invited to attend.
VITA Call-out Meeting
Are you interested in tax or assisting people with disabilities? You can participate in Indiana Legal Service's (ILS) VITA site. VITA is the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program sponsored by the IRS. Volunteers become certified to prepare federal and state income tax forms and help taxpayers prepare and electronically submit their 2006 returns. We will focus on assisting disabled persons in Monroe and surrounding counties. You can do your own return as well. While previous course work or experience with income tax is preferred, none is required. 1L and 2L students are especially encouraged to participate. For more information on how you can be involved, please come to the VITA call-out meeting at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 28, in room 122. There will be snacks. Solo & Small Law Firm Presentation
All students are invited to hear Ted Waggoner, JD'78, present on solo and small law firms from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, in room 123.
NEWS FROM THE FACULTY, STAFF
Professor Hannah Buxbaum gave a faculty workshop at the University of Arizona on Oct. 26. She spoke on the increasing use of class actions in U.S. courts to combat transnational securities fraud.
Professor Marshall Leaffer presented "The Right of Publicity: a Comparative Perspective" at the Interdisciplinary Conference on the Impact of Technological Change On the Creation, Dissemination and Protection of Intellectual Property, which was held at Albany Law School in New York City Oct. 26 through 28. He also presented "Database Protection in the United States, Alive and Flourishing" for the Center for Law Technology & the Arts Symposium at Case School of Law; and "The 1996 WIPO Copyright Treaties: 10 Years Later" in Cleveland on Nov. 10.
On Friday, Nov. 10, Professor Leandra Lederman presented her paper, "Making the U.S. Tax Court More Judicial," at Illinois Law School.
Jim Schutter, director of financial aid, has been awarded the Bloomington Campus Staff Merit Award in the professional staff category. The ceremony to honor the recipients of the staff merit award is at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, in the Frangipani Room at the Memorial Union.

PDP Toys for Tots Drive
Phi Delta Phi (PDP) is sponsoring its annual Toys for Tots Drive. There will be a box for toys outside the Law Library entrance until the end of term. New or gently-used toys will be collected, cleaned, and given to needy children for the holidays. Money donations are also accepted; just e-mail PDP Magister Rachel Clark (raeclark@indiana.edu) if you plan to give this way. Donations are greatly appreciated!
SBA Bookstore Hours
SBA will have its bookstore hours every day at noon to 1 p.m. until Dec. 1 (excluding Thanksgiving break). Take time to shop for supplements or donate supplements and books you would like to sell.

Making a Difference for Children
Would you like to make a difference for a child while also earning invaluable legal experience? Owen County Court Appointed Special Advocates are interested in law students to represent children's best interests in abuse and neglect cases. SBA Wants Your Books!
2L and 3Ls please donate your books and supplements to the SBA bookstore. Include your name, graduation year, and price. Keep in mind that some books have come out with newer editions.
Scheduling Events
All e-mail about reserving classrooms must be sent to BL-LAW-EVENTS. Mail must be sent to the correct address, bl-law-events (for Outlook users) or bl-events-law@exchange.indiana.edu (for non-Outlook users). Please include the date and time of event, the length of time room will be needed, the classroom requested, and the number of people attending the event. Requests should be sent at least one week before the event and should include the name of the person requesting, the organization planning the event, and an e-mail address. Confirmations will be sent by reply e-mail. Thank you!
Audio-Video Services
Requests for AV services may be sent to Beth at av@exchange.indiana.edu. Please include the name of your group and the e-mail address of the contact person, a description of what you want to do, and the date, location, starting time, and duration of the event. Requests must be made at least 48 hours in advance and will be confirmed by e-mail.

The Indiana Law Annotated (ILA) is published every Monday while school is in session with news about the coming week. Information and articles for the ILA should be submitted to ila@indiana.edu by Thursday at noon for inclusion in Monday's edition.
