PROFESSOR ORENSTEIN TO SPEAK ON EVIDENCE RULES TODAY
Professor Aviva Orenstein will give this week's faculty research brown bag presentation at noon on Monday, Feb. 23, in the back room of the Student Lounge. Orenstein will present "Lustful Indians," a discussion of Federal Evidence Rules 413-414, concerning evidence of prior sexual offenses and their special application to Indian reservations.
BLSA BARRISTER'S BALL FRIDAY
Get ready for the Law School's swankiest annual event. BLSA will host its annual Barrister's Ball from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, in Alumni Hall at the Indiana Memorial Union. Tickets will be on sale all week from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lobby. Ticket prices are $50 per couple, or $30 apiece. Ticket prices include appetizers and dinner. Semi-formal attire is appropriate.

Robel belt out "Somewhere over the Rainbow"? How about Professor Brown's take on an Elton John love song? Does Professor Bradley have a secret love for Air Suppply's greatest hits? Don't miss the opportunity to put your professors on the spot with PILF's annual fundraiser, Singing for Summer Salaries, at noon on Wednesday, March 3. PILF will have a table in the lobby at noon from now until the event with a jar for each participating professor. Place money in your favorite (or least favorite?) professor's jar, and the professor with the most money will sing karaoke in front of the entire school. Money raised will be matched by the university and will support PILF's summer scholarship program. This event is a Law School tradition. Don't miss out!
NEWS FROM THE FACULTY
On Feb. 12, Professor Kevin Brown discussed the 50th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education on Amos Brown's radio talk show on WTLC AM 1310 in Indianapolis. On Feb. 18, Brown participated in a panel discussion entitled "Recent Developments in Affirmative Action" at the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center. The panel was hosted by the IUB Libraries Diversity Committee.
The ABA Commission on the 21st Century Judiciary recently published a report drafted by Professor Charles Geyh entitled "Justice in Jeopardy." The report's recommendations were adopted as ABA policy last summer. The report touches on subjects such as diversification of the judiciary, judicial selection, judicial qualifications, court education, and court funding. A consultant's report written by Professor Jeannine Bell is included as an appendix.

CAREERS FOR THE OLDER AND WISER
The Older and Wiser Law Students (OWLS) will discuss "Careers for the Older & Wiser," at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 24, in room 120. Light refreshments will be served.
REQUIRED MEETING ON CREDIT FOR INTERNSHIPS
If you are considering a public interest internship for academic credit, the summer in Washington program, or the Federal Courts Clinic, you MUST attend the meeting at 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 26 in the Moot Court Room (123).

MOOT COURT FINALS
The quarterfinal rounds of the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition are this week. 1Ls, this is a good opportunity to see what an oral argument is like. This is also a great chance for everyone who is considering competing next year to observe an argument. The quarterfinal arguments will be on Feb. 23- 24 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The semifinal rounds are on Feb. 26, and the final argument is on Feb. 27. The Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition is sponsored by Bose McKinney & Evans, Indianapolis.
PILF GENERAL MEETING ON WEDNESDAY
All PILF members: Please plan to attend our general meeting at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 25, in room 125. We will be gearing up for Singing for Summer Salaries and engaging in a Public Interest Opportunity Workshop. We will discuss the summer scholarship application process, clinical opportunities, B710s, and everything else you need to know to get legal experience or a job within the next year.
SLA CAREER ROUNDTABLE SERIES
All events below will take place at noon in room 121; the first will be held this Wednesday, Feb. 25.
Panel presentations Wednesdays
Four to six students (mostly 3Ls) on each panel will discuss how they found their jobs, what they would do differently to find a job in the future, and which resources were most helpful in their job searches. The students will also talk about the work that they did during their internships.
Wednesday, Feb. 25: Government/Public Interest

Wednesday, April 7: Judicial Clerkships (Federal and State)
Student Career Services Feedback session
On Tuesday, March 2, students will have an opportunity to offer feedback and constructive suggestions on how to improve both their career search and the role Career Services can play in this search. Students, please come prepared with actual suggestions. Professor Snyder and/or Dean Kearney will make an opening statement as to the importance of constructive feedback and then will leave so that students may speak freely.

PAD/BLSA TO SPONSOR FASHION SHOW IN MARCH
The Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity (PAD) and the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) are co-sponsoring the law school's First Annual Law School Fashion Show on Saturday, March 6, at Axis Nightclub. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the show will begin at 7:00 p.m. Come see fellow law students model the latest in "Business Professional," "Business Casual," "Holdiay Party," "Golf and Tennis," "Summer Chic," and "After Five" attire! Get ideas for your professional summer wardrobe! Tickets are $5 if you contribute an article of clothing to Goodwill at the time of purchase; otherwise, $6. Tickets will go on sale in the lobby at the end of this week.

2004 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY LAW WRITING COMPETITION
The Computer Law Association and the Marquette Intellectual Property Law Review are sponsoring the 2004 Information Technology Law Writing Competition, which recognizes high-quality student papers on the subject of information technology law. The top paper will receive a $250 award. Two other papers will also be honored. All winners will receive a one-year Computer Law Association membership.
