VEILING ON COLLEGE CAMPUS: SCREENING OF FILM RESEARCHED BY 3L
"For the Sake of Modesty: Veiling on Today's College Campus," a film researched and co-investigated by Darnell G. Cole, Ph.D., Marquette University and our own 3L Shafiqa Ahmadi, will be screened on Friday, April 19, at 4:00 p.m. in the Moot Court Room. Sponsored by the Middle Eastern Law Student Association, this one-hour presentation will be followed by a discussion. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided.
This video production is a dialogue with Muslim women who veil or have veiled on a large, big-ten college campus in the Midwest. They discuss their experiences and perceptions in both the college's social and academic arenas. The film was presented at the American Education Research Association on April 3, 2002, in New Orleans. The video presentation is an hour in length and a discussion will follow. Friday, April 19, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Moot Court Room. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided.
