GHANAIAN SUPREME COURT JUSTICE GIVES LECTURE TODAY
Justice George Lamptey, of the Supreme Court of Ghana, will give the Hall Lecture at noon today in the Moot Court Room. ILS and BLSA are co-sponsoring this event, which commemorates Black History Month. Justice Lamptey will also participate in the African Summit on Feb. 13 (see below).
AFGHAN WOMEN'S REPRESENTATIVE TO SPEAK
A speaker representing the Afghan Women's Mission, Neesha Mirchandani, will speak here at the Law School, Rm. 121, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12. The Afghan Women's Mission is an international adjunct of the legendary Revolutionary Alliance of Women of Afghanistan, which has fought against both Russian occupation and the Taliban. Ms. Mirchandani will discuss the struggles of Afghan women under the conditions of war and Taliban rule, and current conditions in Afghanistan wrought by the United States' bombing and military occupation of the country. A reception will be held after the talk at Professor Crosson's home.

NEWS FROM STUDENT AFFAIRS OFFICE
SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE FOR RESEARCH IN ENGLAND
Earl A. Snyder, an alumnus of Indiana University School of Law and Cambridge University, has generously provided support for an IU law student (current 2L or 3L) to work at the Research Centre for International Law of Cambridge University during the fall of 2002 (September through November). A current 2L, if selected, would need to take a leave of absence for the fall semester.
Mr. Snyder will provide airfare, housing, meal allowance, and a small stipend. The Centre expects that the Snyder Scholar will be in residence for about three months and will conduct independent scholarly research with a view toward publishing the results of the research. Because the Centre expects the Snyder Scholar to work on an international law project, applicants must have had international law or equivalent courses. The Snyder Scholar should also be committed to further study of or practice in international law. Demonstrating a commitment can be done by listing courses taken in the international law area, research in international law topics, employment in the international arena, knowledge of languages, career goals, extracurricular activities and so on.
Applicants should provide a resume, a statement of commitment to international law, and a personal research agenda.
Return completed applications to Dale Calabrese, in room 024 by Monday, Feb. 25, 2002.
The preliminary selection committee will be composed of faculty. The final selection will be made by Mr. Lauterpacht, Cambridge University professor and one of the premier lawyers on the international front, in late March. See Dale or Dean Fromm with questions.
CORRECTED COPY
Last week, the following announcement appeared in these pages: Be advised that Kinko's is now closing at 11 p.m. and it appears no other copy center in the city is open later. We received the following helpful comment in reply:
Strictly-speaking, true; however, one may buy a 1000-copy key from Mail Boxes Etc. for either the IMU location or the College Mall Road location, and they will give one a key code to access the copy machines 24 hours a day, though the staff, of course, will not necessarily be there outside store hours. (The IMU location is not open on Saturdays.)

ANNOUNCEMENTS
BUSINESS SCHOOL REMINDS LAW STUDENTS OF OPTIONS
The Kelley School of Business has partnered with the IU Law School to allow students to pursue a business education while completing requirements toward a JD. Through these highly-ranked programs administered by the Systems and Accounting Graduate Programs, IU Law School students can gain an understanding and appreciation for business principles and create career opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable. Work experience is not required.
Students can effectively combine a business education with law school in a number of ways: Earn a joint degree (requires admission to the Kelley School), take business courses toward a business minor (admission to Kelley School not required), or take business courses that both complement and supplement law courses but don't count toward a degree or a minor (using your non-law school electives).
For more information, contact the Systems and Accounting Graduate Programs (855-3729) or visit the SAGP Web site at http://sagp.kelley.indiana.edu.
