FORMER LIBERIAN PRESIDENT TO SPEAK TODAY
BLSA and ILS will be co-sponsoring a lecture given by Amos Sawyer, the former president of Liberia. He will speak at 4:30 p.m. (note that this time is different from that listed in last week's ILA) today, Nov. 19, in the Moot Court Room. A reception will follow in the Faculty Lounge.
PROF. JOHNSEN TO PARTICIPATE IN AMERICAN STUDIES PANEL
"Meet the New Right: Compassionate Conservatism, Free Market, and State Policy," a panel discussion with Michelle Brown (Criminal Justice), Steven Carr (Communications, IUPUI-FW), Dawn Johnsen, John Lucaites (Communication and Culture), and Radhika Parameswaran (Journalism), will be held on Nov. 29, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., at the University Club in the Indiana Memorial Union.
This panel is the inaugural even of the 2001-02 American Studies Lecture Series, devoted to the consideration of the new administration in Washington, D.C. Panelists will address the 'style' of the Bush presidency; the Supreme Court on the separation of powers, George W. Bush on issues of crime and punishment, media coverage of Sept. 11 and its aftermath, and the Sept. 11/Pearl Harbor analogy.

NEWS FROM THE FACULTY
Professor Cate briefed the undersecretary of commerce and his staff on privacy; participated in a privacy panel, together with Attorneys General Carter (Ind.), Pryor (Ala.), and Stenehjem (N.D.), at the annual meeting of the Republican Attorneys General Association in Washington; gave the keynote address on "Technology and the First Amendment" at the Oklahoma First Amendment Congress in Oklahoma City; and spoke to the Federalist Society in San Francisco on "Information Privacy and the War Against Terrorism."
Professor Greenebaum has recently presented a paper on "Problem Solving in Legal Education" at the UCLA / Institute of Advanced Legal Studies Fifth International Clinical Conference, the theme of which was Problem Solving in Clinical Education.

BLANKET COLLECTION TO AID AFGHAN REFUGEES
Blankets, quilts, and sleeping bags in good condition are being collected at the Law School until Dec. 15 for donation to Afghan refugees. The "No More Victims Campaign" is sponsored by the American Friends Service Committee, the Middle Eastern Law Student Association, Amnesty International (Law Chapter), and the Asian Pacific-Islander American Law Student Association. ANNOUNCEMENTS
GREENEBAUM SEEKS RESEARCH ASSISTANCE
Professor Greenebaum is recruiting assistance in two areas for the spring semester:
1. Policy and implementation work for the Community Conflict Resolution Program, of which he is president, and 2. Confidentiality issues in a community social work agency (Wrap Around) which works in an interdisciplinary and interagency context.
Work in either context could be cast as a research assitantship (for wages) or a B710 Independent Clinical Project (for credit). The confidentiality work might conceivably work as a B706. Those interested should contact Professor Greenebaum by e-mail (greeneba@indiana.edu) as soon as possible.

Please include the name of your group and the e-mail address of the contact person, a description of what you want to do, and the date, location, starting time and duration of the event.
