NEWS FROM THE FACULTY
Professor Hannah Buxbaum presented a paper entitled "The Privilege Against Self- Incrimination and Cross-Border Regulatory Enforcement" at a faculty workshop at the University of Arizona College of Law.
Professor Rob Fischman participated in the Stanford University Workshop on Ecosystem Services and the Protection of Watersheds, Nov. 16-18. The interdisciplinary workshop included economists (including Nobel Laureate Kenneth Arrow) and ecologists (including Paul Ehrlich). Fischman's paper will be published in a symposium issue of the Stanford Environmental Law Journal.
Ralph Gaebler's review of "The Death Penalty: Abolition in Europe," appeared in 28 International Journal of Legal Information 558.
Associate Dean Len Fromm presented a lecture and workshop to the judges and lawyers of the Intellectual Property and International Trade Courts of Bangkok entitled "From Bangor, Maine, to Bangkok, Thailand: Problems on the Road to Pareto Optimal Settlements." He also taught a two week Negotiations Workshop to Lawyers in the LLM program at the law school at Chulalongkarn University.

ANIMAL LEGAL DEFENSE FUND MEETING THURSDAY
The last SALDF meeting of Fall 2000, is Thursday, Nov. 30 at 12:15 p.m. in Room 124. Come get a special membership deal on dues, and join us for very first elections for president and secretary/treasurer. We are a low- maintenance, but high-energy group seeking animal lovers of all stripes. Interested faculty are also more than welcome. Bring your lunch and your good ideas. Look for our flyers around the law school!!! We're the only lawyers whose clients are all innocent. Meat eaters welcome.
CLS WILL PROVIDE ENERGY FOR FINALS
CLS would like to remind the law school that they will again be providing FREE milk and doughnuts during the first week of finals. We'll be set up from 7:30 - 9 Monday through Friday, so be sure to come by for breakfast!

SAVE YOPLAIT YOGURT TOPS
BLSA and the Intellect are holding a Yoplait Yogurt top drive in order to support Breast Cancer research. If you, your friends, or your family eat Yoplait Yogurt, please keep the tops. We will have a drop box outside of the BLSA office on the ground level of the law school (across from the SLA Bookstore). Please aid us in our efforts to support Breast Cancer by bringing in your Yoplait Yogurt lids and dropping them in the collection box.
WRITING CONTESTS
Do not forget to check out the board next to room 024 to see if that research paper you have written might be appropriate for submission to one of many lucrative writing contests. Many of our students have won prizes in these competitions in past years, one for $4000.00.

To schedule classrooms in the law building, send email to bl-law-events (for Outlook users) or bl-events-law@ exchange.indiana.edu (for non-Outlook users). Please include date and time of event, length of time room will be needed, classroom requested and number of people attending event. Requests should be sent at least one week prior to event and include name of person requesting, organization planning the event and an email address. Confirmations will be sent by reply email.

Please include the name of your group and the e-mail address of the contact person, a description of what you want to do, and the date, location, starting time and duration of the event.
