COLLOQUIUM ON RELIGION AND PERSONAL LAW IN MODERN INDIA
IU LAW AND INDIA STUDIES CO-SPONSOR COLLOQUIUM
The India Studies Program and the School of Law will co-sponsor the Colloquium on Religion and Personal Law in Modern India on March 26 and 27. The colloquium is divided into three major topics: Gender and Women's Issues; Comparative Perspectives on Personal Law; and Hindu and Muslim Perspectives on Personal Law and a Uniform Civil Code.
The colloquium will be held in the Moot Court Room both days and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Professor William Popkin is co-chairing the program with Gerald Larson of India Studies. The program is open to the Law School community and the public at large.

JUSTICE KOZINSKI VISITS
THE HONORABLE ALEX KOZINSKI OF THE 9TH CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS TO SPEAK
Mark your calendars and join the Federalist Society in welcoming the Honorable Alex Kozinski from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday, April 1, at 12:15 p.m. in the Moot Court Room. NEWS FROM THE FACULTY
Professor Lynne Henderson will be a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Research on Women and Gender at Stanford during the 1999-2000 academic year. She is working on a book on violence against women, feminism, and the criminal law. At the Institute, she will be writing, and will also have the opportunity to meet scholars from other disciplines, attend classes and lectures, and will give a presentation on her research.
Additionally, it is the 25th anniversary of the Institute, and a number of special events are planned to celebrate the Institute and the work of scholars who have been affiliated with it. Although she will not be in residence at IU, students should feel free to contact her there throughout the year and stop by if they are in the Bay area. More information on how to reach her will be available later.

SLA's ANNUAL CASINO PARTY
Get that money ready, because SLA's annual Casino Party is THIS WEEK on Friday, March 26, from 8 p.m. - 12 midnight at Terry's!!! Join your friends and professors around the gambling tables for a night of food, fun and festivities!
Informational flyers and directions will be posted later this week.
SLA reminds all students not to drink and drive.

INTERNATIONAL LAW ASSOCIATION
On Monday, March 29, Swadesh Kalsi of Krieg Devault in Indy, will be speaking on International Trade & Technology Transfers and his work in international business law.
This talk will be of special interest to those interested in international law, business law, and intellectual property. The talk will be held at 6:00 p.m. in Room 214. Pizza & pop provided. Everyone welcome.
AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION--LAW STUDENT DIVISION
Many congratulations go to 2L Magdalena Przytulska who was elected ABA/LSD Seventh Circuit Governor on March 13! In addition to being one of only 15 governors in the country, Gov. Przytulska will also be representing the law students of 3 states -- Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin -- and will be responsible for more than 15 ABA-accredited law schools.
As former Lt. Gov. of Public Interest for the Seventh Circuit, Gov. Przytulska helped bring the ABA's Work-A-Day Program to I.U. and as ABA Rep., brought I.U.'s ABA membership up by more than 40 percent! Congratulations again to Magdalena and best of luck!

The Federalist Society would like to thank Prof. Alex Tanford and all those who came to the Clint Bolick event. With 80 attendees, it was quite a success and a debate enjoyed by all!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
HOUSING INFORMATION
Beginning on Monday, March 22 the Housing Board on the ground floor across from the SLA Bookstore will be maintained by the Admissions Office.
If you wish to post information on the board, please come to the Admissions Office, Room 230 to fill out a card. Information will be put on a list of housing information sent out from the Office and the card will be posted on the board for you.
There will be 3 categories of housing information:
1) Fall information will include information from area landlords who have units available for the fall and wish us to post the information.
2) Roommate information will include information about students who are looking for roommates to share housing.
3) Sublet information will include information on apartments that are available for summer sublet.
