Brief biography
Chieh-Li (Jerry) Pai is an S.J.D. candidate at the Indiana University Bloomington Maurer School of law, where he also earned his LLM. degree in 2020. Before coming to Maurer, he served in several Taiwanese government agencies, such as Judicial Yuan and Intellectual Property Office. He also practiced law in a Taipei boutique law firm for a short period. His academic interest focuses on the intersection of information technology and intellectual property law, and his S.J.D. dissertation topic addresses the questions about how data science changes the creative process of filmmaking and the influence on determining the reasonable scope of copyright.
