Brief biography
Ami Acary is SJD candidate at the Maurer School of Law. She is a Chin ethnic woman from Burma. She obtained her LLB and LLM degrees from Yadanabon University in Burma. She is a fellow at the Center for Constitutional Democracy (CCD). She has over eight years of experience supporting the peace process and furthering political dialogue in Burma. Acary’s academic interests included Constitutional Design, Constitutional Law, Comparative Law, International Law, Legal History, Jurisprudence and Judiciary. Her SJD dissertations focuses on designing a constitutional interpretation mechanism for Burma, aiming to discover an imperative features of constitutional interpretation which espouse the principle of separation of powers.
