Harry T. Ice Chair and Faculty Fellowships
Harry T. Ice was born in Paulding, Ohio, in 1904, and moved to Indianapolis in 1918. He attended Butler University as an undergraduate and received his law degree from Harvard University in 1929.
He joined the firm of Matson Carter Ross and McCord following graduation. He remained with the firm, now called Ice Miller, for 53 years, becoming one of the nation’s leading bond counselors. Ice also served as special counsel to Indiana Attorney General Theodore I. Sendak.
An active civic leader, he was a director of the Community Hospital Foundation and chairman of the Indiana State Commission on Ethics and Conflicts of Interest. He served on the Board of Trustees of Butler University and was a director of the Holcomb Research Institute.
The Harry T. Ice Faculty Fellowship was established in 1983 by the firm of Ice Miller Donadio and Ryan following Mr. Ice’s death in 1982. The Harry T. Ice Chair was established in 1998.
