Join us in person or virtually for admitted student events!
We welcome you to visit us on campus as well as virtually in Zoomington! Our Admitted Student Days have past, but you can set up an individual visit, and/or participate in our virtual Zoomington events. If you are traveling to the law school from more than 100 miles away, we will reimburse admitted students for lodging (details below) for one visit prior to the confirmation deadline of April 15 (if your confirmation deadline is after April 15, please contact our office about travel reimbursements). Appropriate attire for all visits is business casual. All event times are in Eastern time (Bloomington is in the eastern time zone, the same time zone as New York).
In-Person individual visits
It is important you contact our office first before making any travel plans (flights, hotel reservations, etc.) to make sure we are open and available for visits. To request a visit, please contact us at least one week prior to your desired date of your visit at lawadmis@iu.edu.We can only accommodate individual visits Monday through Friday during regular business hours. A visit consists of a meeting with the Dean of Admissions, a tour of Baier Hall, lunch with a current law student Admissions Fellow, and an optional class visit. We request that you limit your guest(s) to no more than two.
If you are traveling to the law school from over 100 miles away, you may request a lodging reimbursement up to $300 for your stay (no incidentals). Regardless of the credit card used, the reservation MUST be made in the admitted student’s name. You must submit the Lodging Reimbursement Request Form and a copy of the paid folio/receipt to the Office of Admissions within 20 days of your stay. A lodging receipt/folio submitted for reimbursement MUST show the admitted student’s name, the credit card used, a zero balance or amount paid, and be received by the Office of Admissions as soon as possible, but well within 20 days of the visit. Indiana University policy states that if these requirements are not met, you cannot be reimbursed by Indiana University. Check the Reimbursement Requirements page for eligibility, deadlines and procedures.
GoExpress Bloomington Shuttle runs between Bloomington and the Indianapolis International Airport. Many campus and city bus routes run throughout Bloomington, along with limo and taxi services. Visit Bloomington's maps and transportation service outlines many of these options.
If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. Please contact the Office of Admissions (812.855.4765) at least two weeks prior to your date of attendance, as some accommodations may require time to arrange.
Note: We will cover the lodging cost noted above for one visit only (either during an Admitted Student Day OR an Individual Visit).
