Susan deMaine joined the Maurer School of Law as director of the Jerome Hall Law Library and senior lecturer in 2020. Prior to coming to Maurer, she was the associate director of the Ruth Lilly Law Library at Indiana University McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, and earlier in her career, she clerked for the late Honorable David A. DeMaine has published and presented on a range of topics including legal research pedagogy, teaching information governance, accessibility issues in law libraries, law library management, and restrictions on SCOTUS justices’ papers. She is very active in the law librarianship profession, receiving a leadership award from the American Association of Law Libraries in 2016 and winning national election to the Association’s executive board in 2019. She is also currently serving as co-editor of book reviews for Law Library Journal, the leading scholarly journal in law librarianship.
DeMaine received both her master’s in library and information science and her law degree from the University of Kentucky, where she was a Bert T. Combs scholar and special projects editor for the Kentucky Law Journal.
