At the Maurer School of Law, Ms. Waldron is Director of the Environmental Law Program. She is also an adjunct faculty member of the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Ms. Waldron has been an advocate of natural resource conservation for over 20 years, with extensive experience at the state, regional, and national level. Recently, she led a new initiative in Oregon to conserve and restore Oregon's coastal and ocean resources. Working with local and national conservation groups and science and communications partners, Ms. Waldron was director of a coordinated campaign to develop a new comprehensive, integrated approach for the management of Oregon's marine ecosystem. Previously, as vice president with National Wildlife Federation, she led NWF's national wetlands conservation policy program and southeast region. Her work included leading NWF's collaboration with national and local partners to secure passage of the historic Everglades Restoration Act -- the world's largest ecological restoration project -- to conserve this world-class wetland ecosystem in Florida.
Ms. Waldron also has worked for environmental consulting firms, including ICF Incorporated in Fairfax, Virginia, and KERAMIDA Environmental in Indianapolis. As Senior Associate at ICF, she developed policy initiatives and community outreach strategies for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Ms. Waldron also has served as a board director of several non-profit organizations including Indiana-based groups. As a volunteer leader in Indiana in the 1980s, she collaborated with conservation leaders to establish the Hoosier Environmental Council, one of the state's first professionally-run environmental advocacy organizations. Ms. Waldron is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs with an MPA in Environmental Policy and Policy Analysis. She also holds an AB in Environmental Studies and Fine Arts from Indiana University.
