Biography
Allison Hess joined the Maurer School of Law in October 2011. Previously she worked in veterinary medicine and as a field technician on a forestry research project for Purdue University. Hess has spent the majority of her career in education as both a researcher and teacher in Oregon and Indiana. Her focus has been on elementary and special education.
Hess serves a variety of functions as the Administrative Director of the Center for Intellectual Property Research. She coordinates Intellectual Property Association events in conjunction with student leaders and provides administrative support for the IP Externship program, the IP Moot Court program and the student staff of the journal IP Theory. She coordinates visits of IP practitioners-in-residence as well as conference planning for the Center's events. She also provides administrative oversight for grant funding, sponsorships, donations and the Center's general budget.
In the role of managing the CIPR's daily operations, Hess also works with full-time and adjunct faculty affiliated with the Center. She serves as a liaison for collaboration with other law school personnel and oversees communication efforts, including managing the Center's website and outreach efforts.
