Indiana Law Annotated for April 25, 2016
This Week in the Law School
The last ILA of the year. It is our favorite ILA of the year because, as you can see, there are so few events to edit, track down further information on, and/or rewrite entirely. Thank you.
Double congratulations to Prof. Jody Madeira, who welcomed twins Jordan and Katelyn last Monday. All are doing well. With two singles, twins, and triplets already on deck, Prof. Madeira just needs quadruplets to parent for the cycle. (That's a baseball joke.)
Also, a hearty congratulations to Prof. Charlie Geyh. He is a Carnegie Fellow, and you are not. He will use his prize money to work on a book called Lies, Damn Lies, and Judicial Elections: Transcending the Shrill Public Policy Debate over Judicial Selection in America. The Hon. Merrick Garland had no comment when reached.
Finally, we bid adieu to our 3Ls, who go on to exciting things like bar prep in the coming days. You've done an amazing job during your three years here (89 of you performed more than 60 hours of pro bono service this year, you helped raise thousands of dollars for causes like the Middleway House and Protective Order Project, and so many of you pledged to the 3L campaign that we had to order an additional sign), and we are sad to see you go.
A neat thing happened last weekend: On Saturday afternoon, a '98 grad wandered in with her teenaged son. She wanted him to see her composite photo. We looked and looked but couldn't find the '98 composite. So instead she showed her son around the building and all the places that meant so much to her. They didn't then, but they do now.
Years from now, they will for you, too.
Good luck on the bar, travel safely, and we'll see you back sometime soon.
For everyone else, ILA will return in August.

Applications for National Cultural Heritage Moot Court Team Due May 9
The Society for Law and the Arts is accepting applications for its 2016-2017 National Cultural Heritage Law Moot Court Competition team. If you are interested in art, history, antiquities, or cultural heritage, this competition is for you! Applications are being accepted now in hopes that interested students can tailor their schedules in the fall and spring semester to accommodate the competition. Team participants will register for one credit of B528 Advanced Appellate Advocacy in Spring Semester 2017. The competition problem is released in late November, with briefs due in January and oral arguments in Chicago in late February. For more information about the competition and to read last year's problem, visit the competition website. If you are interested in competing, please email Prof. Gabrielle Goodwin (glgoodwi@indiana.edu) by May 9 with a brief statement of interest and your current resume. If you have questions about the competition, don't hesitate to ask Professor Goodwin or the members of the Society for Law and the Arts Executive Board (artlaw@indiana.edu).
Relieve Exam Stress at the Jerome Hall Law Library
Exam stress-relief activities are back in the Jerome Hall Law Library. Please join us in the library lobby from April 21-May 6 to take a well-deserved break from stress and studying. There will be board games, coloring books, jigsaw puzzles, and more. We look forward to seeing you there.
