Middle Eastern Law Students Association (MELSA)
The Middle Eastern Law Students Association (MELSA) at Indiana University Maurer School of Law is composed of JD, LLM, and SJD students who are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the legal and cultural issues that pertain to the Middle East and to Middle-Eastern residents living in the United States. MELSA is a social organization that is not affiliated with any political group or religious entity.
Our goal is to provide a forum through which law students are able to freely engage in discussions pertaining to the Middle East and to the United States foreign policy. We want to increase student and faculty awareness about pressing legal matters in that area of the world, while establishing a network of legal professional with ties to the region.
