Labor and Employment Law Society
The Labor & Employment Law Society (LELS) is committed to educating, organizing, and supporting IU Maurer students interested in developing their understanding of labor, employment, and employee discrimination sectors of American law. To this end, we aim to spread knowledge regarding the procedural history of the employee-employer relationship, as well as how that relationship continues to evolve in the present day under the color of the law.
We will work directly with alumni and other legal professionals with experience in L&E litigation to host informative lunch talks and speaker panel events, as well as collaborate with other law societies whose goals and interests intersect with our own. L&E often overlaps with other areas of the law, opening the door for interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
L&E law impacts nearly every member of the public. We are committed to increasing awareness of the issues that affect workers of all classes and industries in both private and public sectors. Students interested in practicing and/or learning more about L&E law are encouraged to join LELS to further build their network and enrich their career endeavors. LELS keeps members informed about upcoming events and networking opportunities.
