Join us for a thought-provoking book talk with Professor Bonnie Ernst from IU’s Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology. Professor Ernst will discuss her acclaimed book, Challenging Confinement: Mass Incarceration and the Fight for Equality in Women’s Prisons (NYU Press, 2023), exploring the intersections of mass incarceration, gender, and the fight for equality. Co-sponsored by the Bradley Fellows and the Women’s Law Caucus.

Step Up Your Career in Tax with Attorneys from the Indiana State Bar Association

The Tax Law Society will host a panel with esteemed members of Indiana's Tax Bar discussing careers in tax law and adjacent fields. Panelists include: Hon. Justin L. McAdam, judge, Indiana Tax Court; Adria Price, tax practitioner, Price & Associates, Santa Claus, Ind.; Dan Shackle, counsel at Frost Brown Todd, Indianapolis, and former commissioner of Indiana Dept. of Local Government Finance; and Chris Russell, general counsel for Indiana's Department of Revenue, the largest state tax agency in Indiana.

Join the Federalist Society for a discussion with Thomas M. Fisher '94, executive vice president and director of litigation at EdChoice and former Solicitor General of Indiana, for an examination of the state constitutional landscape for school choice programs in the wake of Espinoza and Carson. Fisher may also explore current education bills before the Indiana General Assembly, particularly those related to school choice and charter schools. Food will be provided.
POP Presents: Law & (Protective) Order

Join Protective Order Project and the LGBTQ Project in learning more about the rise of domestic and sexual violence within the LGBTQ community. You do not need to be a POP volunteer to attend! If you are a POP volunteer, you will receive a POP point for attending.

Immigration Law Under the Second Trump Administration
Noon - 1 p.m. in the DeLaney Moot Court Room
The panel will examine the wide-ranging impacts of President Trump's executive orders on immigration law and policy. The panelists will discuss specific effects on asylum procedures, border enforcement, expedited removal, and the termination of protected statuses, and analyze how these changes encourage self-deportation. The panel will also offer a global perspective on how these policies affect US citizens traveling abroad and the overall standing of the United States in the international community.
Panelists include Kevin Johnson, Distinguished Professor of Law, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law, and Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis Law School; Jayanth Krishnan, the Milt and Judi Stewart Professor of Law and Director of the Milt and Judi Stewart Center on the Global Legal Profession; and Christie Popp, a leading immigration lawyer.
