CPT/OPT information session for international students

JD and graduate students who hold F-1 or J-1 visas should attend this session, presented by Lindsay Goss and Gracie Heeb from the Office of International Services. Learn about eligibility requirements and application procedures for receiving Curricular Practical Training (during your studies), Optional Practical Training (after your studies) or Academic Training (J-1 students) authorization so that you can work or intern in your field of study legally. The session will be recorded.
Foundations of DEI: Microaggressions

The Indiana Supreme Court Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion presents this six-module DEI training. Participants will receive one PILF point for attending.

Black History Month panel: Black Women in Law

Join BLSA and the DEI office to celebrate Black History Month by learning about the history of Black women in the legal field. Panelists Hon. Valeri Haughton-Motley, a judge in the Monroe County Circuit Court; Nicole Bolden '08, City Clerk of Bloomington; and Professor Yvette Butler, will share their experiences as Black women in the legal field.

Exploring the Connection: Human Rights, Palestine, and the Role of Foreign Actors
6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the DeLaney Moot Court Room
The Middle Eastern Law Students Association will host world-renowned human rights lawyer Sara Leah Whitson, who will discuss human rights in Palestine and U.S. support for Israel. Whitson headed Human Rights Watch from 2006 to 2020, and currently runs Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN), a Middle East-focused human rights organization.

Animal trafficking: Law and policy

Welcome Kathryn Kullberg of the Humane Society and Megan Freveletti '22 of the Conservation Law Clinic for a discussion on their experiences working to prevent animal trafficking. Kathryn's expertise is on passing state and federal legislation to end trafficking, such as implementing elephant ivory sale bans. Megan had the opportunity to work for an organization called Traffic, gaining experience working to prevent animal trafficking.
