1L Workshops: Outlining for Synthesis and Exam Success
Noon - 1 p.m. in the DeLaney Moot Court Room
As a law student, creating comprehensive and well-structured outlines is a key element in preparing for exams and mastering legal principles. This session focuses on providing students with a strategic approach to outlining, enabling them to synthesize course materials, enhance retention, and effectively apply legal theories to exam scenarios. Various PGAs will walk students through their own outlining process and provide examples of outlines they have developed for different types of exams in various courses. There will be time for Q&A. Please bring your own lunch.

Peter Lee, Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law and Director, Center for Innovation, Law, and Society at the University of California Davis School of Law, presents his recent scholarship on intellectual property law. Lee argues for orienting various innovation "gatekeepers" — including federal funding agencies, scientific journals and conferences, and the Patent and Trademark Office — toward considering the broader social impacts (not just technical merit) of innovative projects when awarding key resources.

CCD seminar series: Joseph Cozza

Professor Joseph Cozza (Rice University) will present, "The Social Foundations of Constitutional Innovation," examining how social capital reduces the transaction costs imposed by amendment rules when it comes to the frequency of amendments within a constitutional regime. The talk is sponsored by the Center for Constitutional Democracy with support from the Department of Political Science.
