Indiana Law Annotated for March 30, 2020 (58:11)
EXCEL IN ISOLATION
Building community across the country, around the globe
Purpose
To build community and a shared experience, while (1) underscoring the resilience, grit, leadership, and creativity of our students; and (2) reinforcing that our students are from all over Indiana, the nation, and the world.
At a time when college students have been depicted as villains (e.g, widely shown videos of spring break partyers on Florida beaches), this reinforces how serious our students are taking the pandemic and the various stay home orders, while highlighting their creativity, hard work, and diverse interest, and how they set an example even under challenging circumstances. This sort of social media is helpful, on the margins, to show off student talents to alumni and others in the community, inspire prospective students, and build community and connections in a very small way.
The Goal
Send in a photograph or short video of yourself working remotely or in a Zoom class, or doing some other activity during the pandemic, with the following information: (1) your name and class/degree program; (2) where you are isolating — country, city, and location of the photo (e.g., parents' basement); (3) a description of what you're studying (topic, course) or what you're doing (hobby, volunteer activity, community service) during isolation.
Alternatively, you can post your own #ExcelinIsolation posts, but tag the law school or Dean Parrish so they can be reposted or retweeted.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you're doing as classes resume. And above all, stay safe and healthy, and in the words of Dean Orenstein, “Practice Social Connection but Physical Distancing.”
PS: Remember that your best source for information about the Law School's response to the COVID–19 virus can in this special section of our website. It is updated often.
Best,
Dean Parrish
