Fall Intersession Registration: Fall Break
Registration for next week's Intersession will remain open through Thursday for these two courses:
B581 Decision Making for Lawyers: Concepts, Duties and Skills (1 credit hour)
This 1-credit pass/fail law school course is offered October 8-11 in Chicago. The course will be held at the law firm of Chapman & Cutler at 111 W. Monroe Street from 5 to 8:30 pm. Students with questions about the course should direct them to Randy Kiser.
B564 Litigation: Courtroom Procedure (1 credit hour)
The course meets on the Bloomington campus October 10-13.
Indiana Law 2L and 3L students may enroll for one unit of credit as part of their fall semester course load (provided they are currently taking 16 or fewer credits). Enrollment for fall break courses will be open October 1 through 4 (Monday through Thursday).A syllabus for either course may be obtained by emailing Libby Steinbach. Breakfast with ChIPs and Connie Lindman
Join ChIPs Maurer for a breakfast with Connie Lindman, '89, partner at SmithAmundsen. Lindman will be on campus as part of the Center for IP Research's IP Practitioner-in-Residence series. Bagels and coffee provided. Faculty Lounge, 8 a.m.
Tax Law Society Lunch with Tim Riffle
Barnes and Thornburg's and Adjunct Professor Tim Riffle, '83, will join the Tax Law Society to discuss his practice. Riffle has extensive experience with structuring businesses and non-profits, structuring mergers, acquisitions, and other deals, and creating and managing trusts. He teaches transactional drafting and regularly judges the Transactional Drafting Competition at the Law School. Room 124, noon.
IP Practitioner-in-Residence: Connie Lindman
Ms. Lindman will be on campus today as part of the IP Practitioner-in-Residence program. In addition to attending IP classes, Lindman will be giving a lunch talk at noon and will be available for informal meetings with students throughout the day in the Faculty Study. Careers in International Law – LLMs & SJDs
Wes Rist, the deputy executive director at the American Society of International Law, will discuss the steps that students can take while still in law school to help themselves stand out in the search for an international law position. Topics covered will include targeted job searching, resume drafting, managing one’s professional contacts, identifying appropriate international experiences, pursuing valuable volunteer and professional membership opportunities, and other practical steps. 1L Academic Enhancement Session: Outlining

Latinx Law Student Association
Please join the Latinx Law Student Association for our second meeting of the year. We will be going over upcoming events, holding elections for 1L representative, and taking our 1L photo. Room 125, 4 p.m.

Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Association Call-out Meeting
This new student organization is officially up and running. At this first meeting we will be introducing our executive board and our faculty advisor, discussing upcoming events including the 1L representative election, and revealing the T-shirt design. Non-pizza lunch provided. Room 121, noon.
Ally Discussion Panel
Many individuals are often witness to moments where a person belonging to a minority group is discriminated against on the basis of their immutable traits. Those not sharing the same characteristics may feel at a loss as to how to assist during those times, perhaps because they don’t want to exacerbate the situation or because they don’t want to intervene and usurp the power of the individual being challenged. This panel is meant to facilitate an intersectional open-dialogue about navigating these situations and encourage healthy advocacy for better minority treatment. Moot Court Room, noon.
First Tuesday Public Interest Panel
Join the Public Interest Law Foundation and Career Services Office in the first of a monthly public interest career panel series. This month, we welcome Indiana Legal Services. ILSis the largest provider of free civil legal assistance toeligiblelow-income people throughout Indiana. ILS also now has a medical-legal partnership group which it is looking to grow.
