Visiting Scholars
Indiana Law welcomes a small number of visiting scholars from around the world to conduct research in our world-class libraries, consult with our professors, sit in on classes, and take part in conferences and workshops. Visiting scholars have full access to all the facilities of the Law School and Indiana University Bloomington, including on-campus housing. Each visiting scholar is given a study space in the Law Library. Scholars may spend from a few months to a full year in residence.
Applications for visiting scholars stays should be submitted at least six months in advance of the proposed residence period. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until spots are filled. Preference will be given to applicants whose scholarly interests most closely match those of our law faculty. Visiting scholars are charged a reasonable semester/annual fee to help defray the administrative costs associated with using the university facilities. Indiana University assists scholars and their families with visa documentation.
Scholars interested in applying should e-mail a CV and a research proposal to Lesley Davis, assistant dean for international programs, at leedavis@indiana.edu.
