How to Get Here
Flying
Indianapolis International Airport is the closest airport to Bloomington, Indiana — about 50 miles north of Bloomington.
Many visitors to IU Bloomington use Go Express Shuttle, which stops at a number of campus locations and at many Bloomington hotels, multiple times a day (they also operate a Chicagoland Shuttle). Most car rental companies have locations at the airport, as do a number of limo services.
Parking and Driving Directions
The Law School is located in Baier Hall, 211 S. Indiana Avenue (corner of Third Street and Indiana Avenue) on the campus of Indiana University (here's a link to a campus map). The most convenient place to park is in the Henderson Parking Garage (a pay lot ½ block from Law School), 310 S. Fess Avenue. There is metered parking on Indiana Avenue across from Baier Hall and throughout downtown Bloomington, but it is often occupied, and meters are strictly enforced. The parking lot across the street from the Law School is not available to students and visitors.
- From the north to the Henderson Parking Garage
Take State Road 37/I-69 south to the first Bloomington exit (College Ave./N. Walnut St.). Proceed south on College Avenue approximately 5 miles through downtown to Third Street. Turn left on Third Street, and head east for five blocks. Stay in the left lane, and veer right as Third Street turns into Atwater Avenue. Proceed two more blocks and turn left on Fess Avenue (one block past the light at Henderson and Atwater). The entrance to the Henderson Garage will be on your left. Baier Hall is across Third Street at the corner of Indiana Avenue and Third Street. - From the west and southwest to the Henderson Parking Garage
Take State Road 45 or 48 to I-69 North and continue heading north. Take the Bloomington exit for SR 45 North/46 East. Continue east 1 mile to the second stop light at College Avenue. Turn right on College Avenue and go approximately 1.5 miles north through downtown to Third Street. Turn left on Third Street, and head east for five blocks. Stay in the left lane as Third Street curves right and turns into Atwater Avenue. Proceed two more blocks and turn left on Fess Avenue (one block past the light at Henderson and Atwater). The entrance to the Henderson Garage will be on your left. Baier is across Third Street on the corner of Indiana Avenue and Third Street. - From the south to the Henderson Parking Garage
Take I-69 North to the Bloomington exit for SR 45 North/46 East. Continue east 1 mile to the second stop light at College Avenue. Turn right on College Avenue and go approximately 1.5 miles through downtown to Third Street. Turn left on Third Street and head east for five blocks. Stay in the left lane as Third Street curves right and becomes Atwater Avenue. Proceed two more blocks and turn left on Fess Avenue (one block past the light on Henderson Street), and the entrance to the Henderson Garage will be on your left. Take State Road 46 to Bloomington. (SR 46 East becomes East Third Street after crossing SR 446.) Continue on East Third Street and go 1.5 miles past the SR 46 bypass (a busy retail intersection) to Fess Avenue (one block before the stoplight on Indiana Avenue). Turn left on Fess Avenue, and the entrance to the Henderson Garage will be on your right. Baier Hall is across Third Street on the corner of Indiana Avenue and Third Street.
Location of the Office of Admissions
The location of the Office of Admissions is 224 Baier Hall. Enter the main doors on Indiana Avenue, go up the half-flight of stairs and take the elevator (on the left) or the stairs (opposite the library entrance) to the second floor. Turn right as you exit the elevator (or left from the stairwell) and follow the hallway to the right. Our office is at the end of the hallway.
