The SKK JD/MBA program
With continuing advances in technology and the rapid pace of innovation, the global economy has arrived. Only the best-prepared professionals will rise to the demands and challenges of the increasing size and complexity of today’s global marketplace.
The Maurer/Sungkyunkwan (SKK) JD/MBA globalizes the traditional joint degree program in a powerful way. By combining a JD from the Maurer School of Law with a truly globalized MBA from SKK's Graduate School of Business in Seoul, a candidate will be uniquely prepared for advancement and success in today’s ever-evolving business world.
The SKK MBA
The SKK MBA program was launched less than a decade ago as an English-speaking program, modeled after the most dynamic and successful MBA programs in the United States. It attracts a community of students from all over the globe, and the curriculum is taught by residential faculty and visiting top business scholars from around the world. SKK's MBA program is ranked #1 in Korea and #51 in the world, and for good reason: a global perspective is an integral part of all courses, including multicultural business experiences in Asia and abroad.
The SKK program is similar to Maurer’s traditional JD/MBA with the IU Kelley School of Business in that candidates earn both degrees in only four years. SKK faculty and administration assist with summer placement of candidates in Seoul during the course of the program.
SKK MBA students typically complete two years of study on the Bloomington campus, then transfer to SKK for one year to earn credit toward their MBA before returning to IU to complete the joint degree program. No GMAT score is required for admission. In addition, the SKK MBA program enables law school students to complete the joint program with no reduction in JD credit hours. As a result, students’ JD schedules will easily accommodate their choices from more than 30 business-related classes and seminars offered at the Law School.
The Maurer/SKK GSB International Fellows Program
Each year SKK awards full-tuition MBA scholarships to as many as 10 academically qualified Indiana Law students who have been admitted to SKK's MBA program. As part of the new IU Maurer/SKK GSB International Fellows program, scholarships will be awarded to as many as ten academically qualified students admitted to SKK’s MBA program as part of the law school’s unique international JD/MBA program. SKK is offering full-tuition scholarships only to students at the Maurer School of Law.
