Biography
Jodie Sackley is an experienced student services leader who comes to the Maurer CSO from the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. At Luddy Career Services she held roles specializing in career advising, employer relations, and most recently served as the Director of Career Services. In addition to her experience in career services, Jodie also spent several years as an undergraduate academic advisor for departments in the College of Arts and Sciences.
She has experience directly advising undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students as well as presenting on topics related to student success. During her time in employer relations, Jodie led business development and relationship management strategy for all academic programs at the Luddy School. This included management of the Accelerator Corporate Giving Program, a collaborative effort with Luddy’s Development and Alumni Relations Office. She has also served on and chaired various committees, including the Bloomington and All-IU Career Services Council, Employer Relations Committee, Metrics Committee, and DEI Career Services Committee. Jodie is very proud to have been recognized for her contributions to students success, including her 2012 nomination as College of Arts and Sciences Advisor of the Year, the 2016 Outstanding Staff Award from the Luddy School’s Women in Computing student organization, and a 2016 Luddy School Staff Merit Award.
Jodie received a B.A. in Communication and Culture and Gender Studies (with minors in African American and African Diaspora Studies as well as Psychology) from the College of Arts and Sciences and a M.L.S. from the School of Library and Information Science. In 2021 she was an inaugural member of the Leading at Indiana University Competency Development Series.
