During law school, he served as a Notes & Comments Editor for the Indiana Law Journal and as a Director for the LGBTQ+ Pro Bono Project. Professor Murphy’s background in higher education has focused on Title IX, student conduct and accountability, residence life, and student government.
After graduating from Maurer and passing the Indiana bar exam, Professor Murphy worked for the Office of the Vice President & General Counsel at IU as a legal fellow—serving as an attorney for his alma mater. During this time, Professor Murphy also taught graduate courses in higher education law.
Returning to Maurer in 2025, Professor Murphy is excited to lead the Law School’s academic and bar support programming for all students.
