Biography
Josh Kubicki is a leading legal strategist, educator, and advisor with a pragmatic approach to innovation in law. Known for cutting through the noise, he has written over 260 articles on the use of generative AI in the legal profession, which he shares with 6,600+ subscribers via his newsletter, Brainyacts. Josh is a contributing author to AI and the Legal Profession, where he wrote chapters on AI’s impact on profitability and the foundational aspects of legal AI.
Currently a faculty member at Maurer School of Law, Josh specializes in teaching the business of law and the application of AI within the legal field. He previously founded the award-winning (Bloomberg & Fast Company) Legal Innovation and Entrepreneurship program at Richmond School of Law. Frequently sought after to facilitate dialogues on the pragmatic and responsible use of AI, Josh engages with national legal associations, law firms, and in-house teams around the globe to share insights and guide meaningful conversations.
Josh also serves as a fractional strategy executive for some of the most prominent and elite law firms, embedding within their teams to define, fine-tune, communicate, and execute strategies. As a hands-on researcher, he has actively advised California and Florida regulators on the responsible use of AI in law and works directly with clients to implement real-world solutions.
With over 20 years of experience, Josh has built services and products for legal teams and businesses, drawing from his expertise in design, management science, and strategy execution. His past roles include Chief Strategy Officer for an AmLaw 100 firm and advisor to legal startups and CEOs of alternative legal service providers.
