Biography
Katie Beck is a 2009 graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, and a 2012 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law. While an undergraduate at IU, she was a member of the Kelley Scholars Program, worked as a student manager at the IU Auditorium, and served on the Board of Aeons. During law school, she was the chairperson of the International Law Society and Human Rights Caucus, a teaching assistant for torts and international law, and a fellow of the Program on Human Rights in the Global Economy.
After graduating from law school and passing the New York and Massachusetts bar exams, Beck worked in law school admissions and as a courthouse reporter in Boston and New York City. She then spent several years developing a non-profit organization focused on documenting community-identified cultural heritage and land rights history in the southern Caribbean region of Costa Rica. While living in Costa Rica, Beck also coordinated service-learning programs for undergraduate and graduate students from both the United States and Costa Rica.
Returning to the United States in 2017, Beck rejoined Indiana University as the director of experiential education at The Media School, where she was responsible for travel and service-learning programming. She joined the Maurer School of Law in 2019 as the director of student affairs.
