I would argue that the objection is not timely. No evidence has been offered yet. Calling a witness to the stand is not offering an item of evidence, so there is nothing to object to.

OK, so Beckman’s attorney asks Carol if she is married to Adam and she says yes.  Should Adam now renew his objection that the witness should not be allowed to testify because she is Adam’s spouse?
