International Law Society (ILS)
The International Law Society is composed of JD, LLM, and SJD students at Maurer School of Law dedicated to gaining a deeper understanding of international law and the role that globalization plays in the legal profession. This year we will host coffee chats with international focused faculty, panels about international career and study opportunities, speakers from various international fields, social events, discuss international business and human rights concerns, and much more. ILS focuses on enhancing the international career opportunities of its members through career services resources, promotion of Maurer's international opportunities, networking events, and global study/ work opportunities.
The best way to stay up to date on ILS is to follow us on Facebook @ILSatMAurer and Instagram @ILSMaurer and/or sign up for our mailing list. Join us for the latest on Maurer’s international opportunities as well as our own research and career guide. Interested? Contact Tanner Wright at jostwrig@iu.edu.
Lawyers without Borders
The Indiana University Student Division of Lawyers Without Borders (LWOB) offers students the opportunity to complete a wide array of research projects for several partnerships, such as Lawyers Without Borders, Center for Constitutional Democracy (CCD), and the Helsinki Group. For example, last year we conducted research surrounding human trafficking in various countries for LWOB. We also researched India for the CCD to learn more about its constitution and the history behind its development.
Research projects can range from short, week-long tasks to a semester-long commitment. This ensures that those with varying degrees of availability can participate.
Being a member of the Student Division of LWOB also gives members the opportunity to interact with those involved in the International Law Society (ILS). These organizations work closely together, frequently taking part in similar events. You can learn more about Lawyers without Borders here.
