Dear Law Students,

I know that many of you are receiving threatening emails from the central university insisting that you take the saliva test for people living off campus. Ignore those university emails with their scary countdown clocks and threats that you will be cut off from IU.

I have confirmed with our provost that:
  • If you have already taken the IU COVID-19 nasal swab test for early starters and dormitory residents, you do not need to take the saliva-based test. (Note: It must be the test administered by IU.)
  • If you are not planning to be on campus at all, then you need not test at all.
I hope your semester is off to a good start. If you are encountering problems – COVID-19 testing, online learning, stress or anything else – please contact me (aorenste@indiana.edu) or Director Beck (katbeck@iu.edu). We are here to support you.

With best wishes,
