The defense may not use a claim of privilege to quash a subpeona. Privilege, like other objections, is asserted on a question-by-question basis, since not everything said to a therapist will be privileged.

Assume the prosecution calls the therapist and asks her, "What did the defendant tell you about his feelings of anger toward drug users?"
May the therapist refuse to answer on the grounds that whatever the defendant told her was a confidential communication protected by the therapist-patient privilege?
