I would respond as follows:

“Let me rephrase the question. Are you afraid you might lose your job?”

You don’t have to argue against the objection if you can quickly fix the problem. Since all witnesses have personal knowledge of their own thoughts, the objection should be overruled, and we’re back to the question whether evidence of fear of losing a job is relevant.
